Planeta Sicilia La Segreta White 2012
A blend of international and local grapes—Grecanico, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Fiano—ensures this tangy Italian white offers layers of intrigue. A floral and tropical fruit nose; a palate of pear, white peach, and lemon; and a finish that balances lively acidity with a saline and mineral finish add up to a perfectly refreshing and well-balanced summer white.
Viña Leyda Pinot Noir Leyda Valley Classic 2012
Taking its name from Chile’s cool Leyda Valley, this winery serves up a winsome Pinot Noir, with classic flavors of cherry and raspberry, a medium body, and mouthwatering acidity. Its fruit purity, soft tannins, and pleasing notes of spice and earth underscore the red fruit, showing great varietal character.
St. Francis Merlot Sonoma Valley 2009
With pleasant notes of cherry, herbs, cocoa, and licorice, this red offers moderate complexity but immense likeability with its easy-drinking style, plush red fruit, and smooth tannins. Versatile as a by-the-glass red and equally serviceable with red meat, this wine can make you fall in love with Merlot again.

Cune Rioja Reserva 2009
Beneath the initial rush of ripe red fruits lurk licorice, smoke, and spice aromas that persist nicely on the palate, with its plush texture, fresh acidity, and polished tannins. A fine balance of dried fruit and savory notes with a very dry finish keeps this rooted in the Old World, despite the lavish dose of nicely integrated toasty oak.
Churchill Douro Grande Reserva 2011
Touriga Nacional shines in this robust red that exhibits familiar Port flavors, and staying power, in a suave and approachable red wine. Black plum and crushed berry fruit is sprinkled with black pepper notes and mingled with savory black olive and dark chocolate, while the full, creamy palate displays graphite and mineral notes on the long finish.
Falletto di Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Asili Riserva 2007
One of the rare Riserva bottlings, its red label indicates that Giacosa saw something especially profound in this vintage, where classic Nebbiolo flavors of cherry and violet, licorice and spice, converge in a seductive aroma. While robust on the palate, the wine also exudes balance and grace, with tobacco notes appearing on the finish.
