The fourth annual Good Food Awards Ceremony was held at San Francisco’s historic Palace of Fine Arts in January, celebrating 130 food and drink producers from across 32 states for their authentic and responsibly produced foods. A gala reception where guests sampled the winning products immediately followed. Forget The Popcorn
Devour! The Food Film Fest, a series of events celebrating cinema, food, and wine culture, swept the shores of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, last fall. Among the events were a cocktail pop-up party, film-inspired chef dinners, and a field trip to various vineyards aboard the Magic Winery Bus. Ring In The New Leader
City Harvest and members of its Food Council rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange to mark the appointment of Geoffrey Zakarian as Food Council Chair. Marcus Samuelsson, Eric Ripert (the exiting Food Council Chair), and Tom Colicchio, among other chefs, gathered at Manhattan’s Backbar later that evening for a cocktail reception. The Need For Speed
The third edition of the national Speed Rack competition, in which female bartenders made classic cocktails in timed heats, launched in the Big Apple this winter. Shannon Nicole Ponce of Mayahuel restaurant (pictured) took top honors and will compete in the finals when it returns to New York City later this spring.
