Charleston, South Carolina—Alabama native Michelle Weaver is no stranger to the classic biscuit. The executive chef of The Charleston Grill has introduced a biscuit bar with all the fixin’s for private events, including meetings and weddings. The buffet includes biscuits infused with Southern kitchen staples like duck cracklins’, sweet potatoes, and graham crackers, with toppings ranging from foie gras to smoked salmon. And while Weaver has no plans to open a biscuit-focused restaurant, the chef says, “Never say never…there are restaurants that focus solely on cupcakes, so it could work. But right now I’m just enjoying playing with some of the foods that I grew up with by adding new flavors and approaches.”
