Kudos for Food Arts: Carolyn Jung and Chad Robertson
New York City—Two Food Arts features copped honors in the Association of Food Journalists’ writing competition. San Francisco baker Chad Robertson’s The Baker in the Rye (April 2012) took third place in the Best Non-Newspaper Food Feature category. He wrote about his enlightening experience in Denmark working with whole grains and how he incorporated that into the new breads at Tartine and Bar Tartine. Frequent Food Arts contributor Carolyn Jung won third place in the category of Best Story on Food Policy or Food Issues with her piece, Foie and Its Discontents (May 2012), which detailed the effects of California’s then impending ban on foie gras on the culinary community, now in effect.
