Big Apple Brouhaha

Abbe Lewis - September 16th, 2013

It’s almost that time of year again—that time when the weather cools down, the leaves turn to shades of autumn, and the hordes and masses venture to the Big Apple for the annual New York City Wine & Food Festival.

While guests can expect the typical favorites—including the Blue Moon Burger Bash and Tacos & Tequila—some new activities are sure to win the stomachs of festival-goers.

Power duo Daniel Humm and Will Guidara of Manhattan’s Eleven Madison Park and Nomad will host an “I Love NY: Ingredients and Recipes” fête, celebrating their cookbook of the same name with an intimate sit-down dinner on the 51st floor of the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park. To top it off, attendees will receive a copy of the book.

Todd English will host a Global Night Market at his Todd English Food Hall in the Plaza hotel for a walk-around tasting from the likes of Billy’s Bakery, Kusmi Tea, Luke’s Lobster, and La Maison du Chocolat.

Italian chef and New York Jets fan Mario Batali, alongside Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Jets quarterback Joe Namath will host a tailgate party at Chelsea Piers’ Pier 92. Expect samplings of typical game-day fare, demos from Batali and his sons, and cameos from former Jets teammates. (And don’t forget to wear your green and white.)

And those late night party-goers suffering from hangovers (dumplings and sushi at Morimoto, anyone?) can have a hair of the dog at the ABSOLUT Best Bloody Mary Brunch.

Bottoms up!
