The Green City Market Cookbook: Great Recipes from Chicago’s Award-Winning Farmers’ Market
Celebrating the famed market in Lincoln Park, the new cookbook (which will be available at the market on July 19) features 88 recipes from Chicagoland chefs such as Rick Bayless and Stephanie Izard, as well as recipes from local farmers and volunteers. Co-owners Sarah Stegner and George Bumbaris of Prairie Grass Cafe will host a dinner featuring guest chefs and recipes from the book on Sunday, July 20. —Abbe Lewis, associate editor

Jeffrey Steingarten goes on a quest for the best yogurt (his favorite is not from the giants Chobani or Fage but a small Brooklyn outfit called The White Mustache). But along the way he discovers the dangers of careless whey disposal, which he claims could kill all the fish in lakes and rivers used as dumping areas.
